Based on the insanely rare and priceless Fairchild 670 variable-mu compressor, the stereo edition of the Heritage Audio Herchild Model 670 valve compressor coats your mix bus in nothing short of pure magic. You could be fooled into thinking that the chunky industrial-era style control knobs and VU meters of the Herchild Model 670 are just a front for a stack of circuit boards, but a single glance at the rear panel reveals a set of twenty-two physical valves and nine transformers. Basically, Heritage Audio have stuck so close to the original design of the hallowed 670 that the average engineer might be hard-pressed to tell the difference. And, on top of that, they've piled on some more modernised functions, including a side-chain filter to support more bass-heavy production work and more direct access to the Slope/Ratio/Knee control so the level of aggression can be set in detail.
